Driver seat sliding mechanism 2011 Focus Zetec

Featured Replies

Hi  I am new here and cannot  find anything on this topic.

This morning my drivers seat had limited movement backwards and forwards, I couldn't see any thing wrong under the car so i took the seat out.

I found that the near side track had full movement but the off side track had limited movement.  Whilst turning the seat this way and that to get a better view and trying to adjust it and  watch it at the same time..........dink on the floor and I found a ball bearing had fallen further searching on the floor found two balls had fallen out. The seat now has full function.

Has anyone else experienced this?  How long will it last with two balls out? Can you replace this slider mechanism?

Regards  Mervyn

Did Focus seats never give cause for comment here?

I really would like to know if the slider, linear bearing, is replaceable. It feels like a job I may have to do soon.  I could not see any obvious way of getting it off the seat.

Hi Mervyn, I've not seen anyone mention seat problems in general. There are often people swaping diffrent seats about but no reported problems with Focus seats.

Vehicle recycle centres (scrap yards) are the best place for cheap replacment parts like seat runners.
