Ford S-Max won't start. Steering assist malfunction, park pilot malfunction, ESC service required

Featured Replies

2016 Ford S-Max intermittently won't start. Took to the Ford Garage but but weren't able to identify the issue.

On the dashboard, it will say: Steering assist malfunction, service required

Esc service required

Check Park Pilot

Park Pilot malfunction on the display screen

Any idea what it may be due to as no error codes came up on Ford diagnostic system.

Thank you.

Hello Peng, almost sure that all of those warnings/problems is caused by very low battery voltage.

You need to charge your battery for a full 24 hours and I would then expect the issues to go away. It maybe that your battery needs to be replaced, but I would try charging it first.

Thank you very much. It took me an hour today to start the car, and will certainly take that advice. Will keep you posted. Thank you once again.
