Focus mk2 BCM issue?

Featured Replies

Hello, i have a 2011 1.6 tdci. The other day i noticed my 12v lighter outlet works only when my high beams are on. Today i have a warning "bonnet open", when i start the car my windshield wipers go on, my A/C and electric windows don't work and the outside temperature is not shown. Also, i can't turn the rear wiper. Checked the fuses, all seem ok, disconnected the battery but nothing changed. Any tips?

Unfortunately, it sounds as if the BCM is going down due to water ingress.

Under the glovebox is a white module/fusebox.

Drop it down and disconnect some of the plugs PLEASE DISCONNECT BATTERY FIRST.

If you see green fur on the contacts or the board when you disconnect any of the plugs then you have water damage and will have to source and program a replacement BCM. But be careful not to source a BCM that also has water damage.

Once replaced find where the water is coming in a rectify and wrap the BCM in cling film to prevent further damage.

Sometimes it's a badly fitted windscreen, most times it's a badly fitted pollen filter on the HVAC

Hi Boyko, it sounds like your BCM has got a leprechaun in it. Or more likely as Dave says water.
