Focus MK4 led reflector headlights

Featured Replies

Evening all,

retrofitted the led reflector headlights found on the later builds of the MK4, was literally plug and play.

one strange thing I’ve noticed is that when the engine is running and stop start kicks in, the dipped led beams get brighter by about 10% and then when the engine starts again, exactly 5 seconds later they dim by 10%. You’d think it would be the other way round?

any ideas? Or is there anything I’m missing that might need changing in forscan?

Note: I came from standard halogen reflectors.

just found it really odd.

Yeh this guy had the same issue.

Yeah, noticed that. Just posted a thread in the forscan forum to see if anyone else has any ideas. I can guarantee it’s something to do with the BCM and how it pulses the power to the headlights.

I remember with the mk3, there was an option to allow the bcm to fire out a direct 12v feed rather than PWM.
