Mk2 light sensors issues linked?

Featured Replies

Hi. I’ve got a 2005 mk2 1.6 ghia. I have two issues and I am wondering if they are linked.
one is the rear view mirror won’t auto dim and the other is the headlights stay on when set to auto.
do they both use the same light sensor?
do you think these two issues are linked or separate ?

thanks in advance

the wires for the auto dim, auto wipers, and auto lights (are the same loom) and all go from the GEM beneath the glove box up the left door pillar to the interior light / mirror...

they are all tick boxes to add or remove from the GEM.  if someone had to replace the GEM maybe they used a lower spec one that doesn't have these features and or weren't set up... find someone to check the configuration for these toys - then go from there
