Ford Focus Mk2 1.6 85kw ti sport Spark plugs

Featured Replies

Hello!

I have a ford focus 1.6 85kw ti Sport,if someone knows what socket i need to change the spark plugs and what spark plugs should i buy gap dimensions and brand..

Thank you !

I recommend to use NGK spark plugs for this type of engine. NGK has 2 different types of spark plugs for this engine:

Standard Nickel spark plug TR5B-13
Premium Iridium spark plug LTR5IX-11

The suffix of the spark plug type number stands for the preset spark plug gap. The standard Nickel spark plug has a preset gap of 1.3 mm and the premium Iridium spark plug has a preset gap of 1.1 mm. Ford prescribes to set the spark plug gap for this engine to 1.2 mm.

These spark plugs require a 16 mm socket. These spark plugs have a tapered seat design. To prevent the spark plugs from being overtightened it is highly recommended to install the spark plugs using a torque wrench and to torque the spark plugs to 16 Nm.
