ULEZ Confusion TFL website?

Featured Replies

Hi all. As the ULEZ expansion begins today, I happened to jump on the Transport for London website yesterday just to check my old Focus. Fully expecting it to be liable for the £12.50 charge. But no! Entering my correct reg for a 2004 Mk 1 1.6 16v Auto, it says only the congestion charge would be payable. As far as I understand ULEZ requires petrol cars to comply with at least EURO 4, which lists CO2 at 100 G/Km....whilst my Focus emits !92 G/Km EURO 3. My neighbours Auto Volkswagen Golf 1.6 auto 2003 also comes up as complying. Though I haven't checked it's CO2 I can't see it being any better than my Focus. Autotrader website  however, when ULEZ compliant is ticked on used cars, will not bring up a Focus 2004. Any ideas anyone?

Before I read your post I put in the reg for a 2004 vw lupo I previously owned (1litre, can’t remember co reading but it was about £145 road tax I think). I was surprised.-That says no ulez charge.  But I have three motorbikes in historic tax class, they say I have to pay ulez but elsewhere it says Historic tax class don’t pay.

Do you think the beloved Sadiq pays the charge for his £300,000 Range Rover with it's 5 liter of a beast engine? 🤣

I wouldn't trust Autotrader for something like this.  It'll just be based on a simple algorithm, possibly even just the year of registration.

It's probably a glitch in the TFL database...I'd keep quiet about it tbh... :ninja:

Why does he need that anyway? I have it on good authority (Mr Khan) that London has excellent  public transport. At least Boris used a bike sometimes😀
