I've the unfortunate 1L worse engine of the century award 😄 Advice requested please -

With the 1L having a heat shield covering the turbo down the front to the bottom of the cat itself. I was wondering if applying the gold heat tape to the heat shield. Will there be a benefit on doing this or will it cause more problems?

To be honest, as long as

• The oil has been changed on time AND with the correct Ford specification oil
• Certain parts of the cooling system have been replaced with the MK3.5 parts

there really isn't much else wrong with that engine.

As much as I’d like to agree with but I can’t.

I’ve read many other people with same engine having issues like nothing on earth.

I’m having issues and that’s after a new engine was installed around 15500 miles ago.

I’m still having issues with this engine and yes correct oil/service has been done and belt was done when engine was installed.

New one was because the orig engine died due to oil pump failure.
