Mystery water

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I’m new on here so not really sure what the etiquette or rules are, but hoping someone may have had the same problem as me and know how to fix it.

I’ve got a 2009 automatic focus estate. I’ve recently noticed the rear passenger side footwell is collecting water, particularly in the rear left hand corner.

have done some online research and seen similar issues where people have suggested either the A/C leaking water from the vent under the passenger seat or water coming through from the boot due to a common seal problem. But neither of these appear to be cause, no water pooling near any other A/C vent and not significant pooling of water in the boot (there’s some moisture under the boot carpet but nothing major).

I’ve had a look at the door seals and there appear intact (not that I’m an expert) and I’ve given the roof/door a bit of a hose down and can’t see any water coming through.

I normally park on a hill with the boot end lower down so not sure of this could be relevant to the water pooling where it is.

Anyway, and thoughts, ideas or solutions would be very helpful as I’m at a loss!

Cheers

Heater matrix would be another potential cause maybe, although I've never experienced water in any of my Ford cars, touch wood. I'm just putting it out there mate.
