h1ghlander77
Hey all, I’m losing will to live with this horrendous thing Ford produced! I’m the space of a year, if had more trouble with this mk3 pfl than I have in all my cars combined. soon as I can I’m getting shot and never going to Ford again. I’ve apparently have a leak somewhere and that water is getting to the fusebox. I’ve cleaned the plug and the fusebox with electrical cleaner. While this solved the issue it recently came back! I even tried covering the fusebox with a bag and tried my best to seal it. But even that’s not worked. anyone has something similar? When water gets in, it drains the battery and needs a jump start and when you turn off the car and remove the key the engine is still running! I’ve taken photos of Ford scan and added to this post. I’m thinking that the large number is due to the car being started but the battery being flat. TIA

The washer pump can be seen by removing the drivers side headlight. 1

h1ghlander77
Another question, if I was to replace this fusebox in the passenger well. Does it require programming? If so (OoC how does the programming work?) not seen any like service port etc on the unit itself.
JW1982
The "fusebox" you are referring to is actually the BCM (Body Control Module). The BCM is basically the main electronic module of the car that actively controls most of the electronic functionality of the car. The BCM contains both a direct (AS-BUILT) configuration and a CCC (Central Car Configuration). Diagnostics and programming are fully performed through the OBD port using a suitable (Ford specific) diagnostic system. Apart from the configuration the BCM is also an integral part of the PATS immobilizer system. After the BCM is replaced the PATS system needs to be reprogrammed. The Focus MK3/MK3,5 has the latest PATS coded algorythm. Full security access to the Ford FDRS diagnostic network is required to reprogram the Focus MK3/MK3.5 PATS system. Apart from official Ford dealers and a few specialists there are virtually no other companies that have full security access so this is basically a dealer only job.

That’s what I was beginning to think. Thought originally it was just another fusebox lol. More I read, more I thought it was more than just a fusebox. thanks for the info
