Focus Mk4 bonnet release

Featured Replies

Any technicians on here know how to release the bonnet on a Mk4 Focus 2019 if the passenger door won't open.

I realise this may be a very rare occurrence but I had the following scenario:

My battery went completely flat so central lock/unlock was inoperative. Key blade would only open drivers door (no key slot on passenger door). Whilst passenger door is closed bonnet release lever is inaccessible.

It's all explained in the manual.

You have to disassemble the handle and turn the cog behind it manually.

It's not easy as you have to lie across the front seats to do it.

Bit of an oversight by Ford when they were converting the design from LHD to RHD imo.

Alexp999, Thankyou for info.

I agree, very poor design for RHD cars.
