The battery is most likely at end of life by now if it's the original.

If getting a new battery make sure it's a silver calcium type.

Car Battery.

Replaced battery and nothing still

It could be the instrument cluster problem where the soldering comes loose and requires re-soldered. If you have a code reader you might be lucky to track down the issue.

Can you switch on anything ?

Do the Headlights work ?

What about the interior courtesy lights, do they work ?

I was thinking that but the OP said before no lights work and with the new battery it's the same.

Just not sure if they mean instrument cluster lights

Yeah everything works

I think you will have to start at the begining with your problem.

You started at the begining saying your car was "powerless no lights nothing"

Then you fitted a new battery and said "Replaced battery and nothing still"

Next you say "Yeah everything works"

So what was the original problem and what is the problem now ?

I would be happy to try and offer help but it seems we only have half the story.

Everything worked was just not turning over. The more I kept trying the battery kept dying! So when the battery was loosing v olts the lights then stopped working. Even had new batter. Which didn’t help any.

Had mobile auto technician come today. First I had agreed 120 pound to fix immobiliser fault. He told me the car had to be reprogrammed. 2 and half hours later he couldn’t do the programming as a burning smell and click from fuse box in passenger footwell was preventing car being programmed.

OK - so just to be clear, one day you went to start your car and everything was normal and working as it should 'BUT' the car wouldn't start for some unknown reason. You kept trying and trying to start the car, and the battery went flat.

Then you bought a new battery and tried to start the car, and again you kept trying until the new battery was also flat.

Is that a correct summary of what has happened ?

Had auto technician today first price was 120 and then no fix and only charged me 50. The technician said he could fix for 350 next week as parts need ordered and have 3 month warranty. I’m confused with all of it. So you expect a key to do as it should, then when a key stops communicating the bill is horrendous

If he can fix it for £350 then I think you are getting it cheap.

It sounds to be me like the BCM is dead.

So was my version of what happened correct ?

Yes, sorry for the confusions. Today had technician on it and wow it has become a total nightmare. I still have no working car. The technician said immobiliser fault. ! Then said 120 to fix.after 2 and half hours the technician said burning in fuse box in passenger footwell was preventing the car being programmed.he only charged 50 as no fix. He said he could order new parts and come back next week for 350😳

Your version was correct. Oh thanks for that advice saying it be worth it. I still have no understanding why this even happened was it me or something else and will it happen again😳👌

If a car won't start after 3 or 4 turns of the key you stop trying and get it looked at. If you keep on trying you can cause damage and also run the battery flat.

The BCM (Body Control Module) is part of the fusebox located behind the glovebox. They can fail for any number of reasons, but mostly from water getting in to them, or from vehicles with extremely flat batteries being jump started.

Oh Thankyou ever so much. I really only kept turning key and trying as people on the forum had similar symptoms so the new battery that I bought do you think that will still be ok once charged?

Get your new battery fully charged ASAP, don't leave in a discharged condition or it will be permanently damaged.
