SMax 2nd Row of Seats

Featured Replies

Hi - I am a new member to the forum and wondering if anyone can help at all please.

I have had my SMax 2.2 Sport for 2 years now and have unfortunately had some very painful bills at local main dealer, mostly around the DPF and engine management system. There appears to be a standard “investigatory” charge (circa £120-£150) just for booking your car in for any issue at my local Ford dealer as well. The latest issue I have is that both the drivers and passenger sides 2nd row of seats will not lock back into place having moved them forward. They freely move backwards and forwards when the release lever is pulled upwards under each seat, but they just will not lock into place. The side levers work to fold the seats flat.

Having recently just paid nearly £300 for a bonnet release catch issue and £150 for a missing integrated Sat Nav/radio code, it would be good to see if there are fixes out there that I can do myself this time.

Thank you.

Hi, Have you tried pushing the lever  that you lift to slide the seat, down to lock it? It sounds like it's sticking and just isn't locking into place. If you look under the seat with a torch you can see the mechanism.

Thank you very much indeed for the tip and prompt response. It did not work pushing down on the seat bar at the front, but I was able to push and lock the back bar down underneath as temporary fix. Thanks again.
