focus trend 2 transmission malfunction

Featured Replies

hello, i haven't started my car for 2 weeks and battery drain. i used cables to charge the battery (1 year old), then i have power but cannot initiate. it says "transmission malfunction".  i think something wrong with my codan. even the code is correct, i didn't hear the relay.   please HELP.

Battery is probably dead and not giving enough voltage

You need to read codes

replacing the battery didn't solve the issue.  i suspect the codan, because i cannot hear the relay, after pressing the correct code.  how can i be sure?

You can try clearing the code with ForScan and an ELM27 lead.

If you have a correct ELM27 lead and either a mobile with ForScan light or a laptop with ForScan you can read codes no problem. This place is your best bet. I am not sure what you mean about "codan".

codan is the keyboard of the code i need to press in order to close the relay and bring voltage to the starter.

I'm fairly sure that most people on this UK Ford forum have no idea what you are talking about. What is "codan" and what "keyboard" ? Maybe you can post some pictures of the codan and the keyboard ?

There is a very simple answer to this. Contact whoever  installed the "Codan" unit. There is not a chance in hell that anyone on this forum is going to be able to help with something that is an aftermarket security device, that we don't have in the UK, and don't know what it does.
