Rattling from back seat

Featured Replies

I've got a mk3 2018 Focus which has an annoying rattle / tapping in the rear passenger seat back. Anyone sat in that seat complains that they can feel a tapping on their back when travelling. I had this fault a few months back and it went into my Ford dealer and sorted under warranty but now the fault's back and the car is just over 3 years old so no longer covered. I'm not bad at DIY so can have a look myself but I'll be damned if I can figure out how to remove the panel at the rear on the seat back as there are no visible fastenings.

Has anyone any idea how I can get this panel off to get to the insides.

regards and thanks in advance.

It may be where the seat clips into the holder is just not as tight as expected. Wrapping some black tape around the metal will make it tighter.

Had the same noise on our 10 plate fiesta, after the missus drove the car and I sat in the back I found what it was, as Ian says above it was the claw that grabs onto the small rail, I wrapped thin tape around the rail, was hard to lock the seat in place but the noise was gone.

i also had this annoying noise on my mk 3 estate  it was the bit the other two blokes mentioned. where the rear seat fits into the bracket.  i also wrapped some electricians tape round it . no problem any more.

Well I'll be damned. My hats off to you all ! I didn't think for one minute that tape on the locking bracket would sort out  my problem but I did it more to prove a point but must stand corrected. Bit of electricians tape and all is nice and quiet. Now if only this would work on the missus. Lol

My thanks once again to you all. Best wishes. . . . .
