so then what about getting it cut and programmed?

Local autolocksmith can do it, that's all that Ford use anyway. They usually like to provide the key so you don't end up with some Chinese knock-off from eBay for £15 that might not program very well... A lot of the time they don't even come with transponder chips.

ive got one on a fob but i want another full key.
