Is there massive differences in applications / options on both, I'd assume the app for Android is just a monitoring app 

 

If I'm going to get the laptop / windows option I'll need to pick up a cheap laptop

    I have the Apple app. I also have the windows program. I have used the windows version with extended licence for key programming which I know can’t be done on phone app. I do not know what the other differences are but if you say exactly what you want to do maybe someone will be able to say if the phone app does it and maybe save the cost of a laptop.
