Ford focus 1.6 tdci not for long ;-)

Featured Replies

Howdy chaps and ladies

I have an ancient ford focus 2007 year

I have to say that the 1.6 hdi /tdci is a pile of scrap LOL after fittng 3 engines the last one was out of a 50km car that sit for a few years here in ireland with electrical problems

Always serviced on time and not driven hard i swear (5km oil and filter changes)

Anyhow I have just acquired a 2.0 tdci mondeo and 6 speed gearbox late 2007 mk4 as a donor

I have only ever seen 1 of the 2.0 tdci focus they are very rare over this side of the water

Has anyone ever converted a focus mk2 to a 2.0 from a mondeo ?

I have noticed engine and gearbox mounts are slightly different and 2.0 focus ones have to be used and have a pair on the way over in the post,

Engine wiring loom is also different between the two models also and I am watching 4 at the moment

I am a mechanic over here and I am more into VW's to be honest but love the mk2 focus

I also have a 2006 mk7 transit so well used to rust and trying to keep it on the road

cheers
