Genuine Focus Dash Cam Settings

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just had a genuine Ford Dash Cam fitted to my 70 Plate Titanium X with Sync 3 and despite going through the motions of setting it up, I cannot see any recordings either on the App on my mobile or on the Sync.

Is it right that this will not work without WiFi, as if so that seems crazy, but when I try to look for files, that is all it say.

Has anybody any advice/guidance in how to set this up so that it works!

Thanks

Andy

Does it need a SD Card for recording of the footage

Recorded data will be saved automatically on an SD card in case of an accident, including parking bump protection. The wide-angle camera captures incidents around the vehicle. Also provides geographic data, e.g. coordinates and speed. Camera functions and recorded data can be accessed and controlled via the app on your compatible mobile device using Wi-Fi connectivity.

Does this mean the camera itself is a wi-fi hotspot? It would seem very strange if it had to be within range of a router to work.

Hello Mike, I think the dashcam is linked to the vehicles built in WiFi, so provided that's working (paid for) then I expect you can then remotely view the camera.

Is this the Ford Dashcam that you have ?

If so, have you installed the SD card that is required ?

Hi, yes that's the one, and yes the SD card is installed.

The app shows a percentage used of the SD card but shows no files.

I assume that possibly that the phone needs to be plugged into the USB socket in the centre consul rather than the armrest USB to get files on the mobile, which kind of defeats the object of that USB socket for playing music from IPod or USB as the sync doesn't recognised either when plugged into the armrest USB!

A ***** con if I need to pay for the cars wi-fi to get all of the functionality, especially when I have available data on the mobile!
