Hey people of the car world. I have a question on behalf of a friend. He owns a heavily modified ford focus RS. However he's recently moved and his exhaust system is very loud and he doesn't want to upset the neighbours when he comes home late from work in the evenings/nights. We have been looking at cutout systems. And we were wondering could you put the just cutout system on the current exhausts without the turndown bit? Or does it have to have the turndown and if so why?

What RS is it?

Heya, its a 2009 RS. Its been straight pipped and de-catted with a milltek exhaust and its had stage 2 remap.

In the recesses of my mind there is an option kit to add a loud button to a standard quiet exhaust, controlled from inside the car, may have seen it on that prog with the 2 guys and the blonde stick insect gremloids haha get him to have a shufty.

From what I've found online.. You can install the "shut off valve" thing into the exhaust pipe but not 100% sure it will work because everyone is adding it to a quiet exhaust.
