Radio unit - Cracking, Poping even when no volume. Now wont turn on.

Featured Replies

Hi,

New to the forum and have a Ford Focus 2013 1.6 Econetic diesel hatchback.
Its been a great car but in the last 4 weeks has developed an annoying issue with the radio. The speakers Crackle loudly, Pop and no matter how low the volume its VERY LOUD.
The radio has now packed up and when you turn it on the screen shows Ford Audio but doesn't turn the radio/CD and all the sync doesn't work so no Bluetooth etc.
I've searched the internet and can find the same issue with Fords in the USA but nothing in the UK.
Does anyone have any advice on how to sort this issue?
I've checked the 79 fuse in the passenger footwell, swapped it and still not working. I had removed the radio unit and disconnected the ribbon connector for the CD inside the radio unit ( read on a forum this may be the issue ) and it worked for a couple of weeks but has totally gone Dude again.
Has anyone had similar issues?
Regards.
Tony
