Using Forscan, and following various instructions and tutorials, I have managed to get the climate controls displayed on the Sync3 screen, but none of them work. The screen beeps, when selecting an option, but nothing else happens. Have I missed something?

The other issue is that since I have made these changes, the screen no longer displays the time at the top. It just shows .. : ..
It does briefly show the time at start up, but it then disappears.

Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated.

I hope you remembered to save the 'asbuilt' file before you made the changes so at least you can put the car back the way it was.

The climate controls of the sync3 screen was a bit odd for 2018 and early 2019 Mk4's. At first the driver / passenger settings were on the wrong side, it assumed the car to be LHD. Since the latest updates to sync that problem has been fixed.

Did you have the latest version of Sync3 before you made the changes ?

Hi Unofix, yes, I am on the latest Sync3 version.

The changes I made were in the APIM. I enabled Climate domain, Heated steering wheel icon, Heated Windshield management.

I changed Climate control type to automatic, and changed the seat buttons icon to Heated seats.

Ironically, I had only initially added the steering wheel and heated seats options to Sync3 and they worked OK. It's only since I added the rest that they stopped working.

Sadly, and shamefacedly I have to admit I didn't make a copy of the Asbuilt file 😕 

On the bottom of the screen are the write buttons etc.

One of them says "load Factory AB" click that button and Forscan will download your factory asbuilt files, then click write all and it will be back to factory.

Reset module

I enabled HTD seats and climate on my MK4 APIM and it worked OK

Will I have to redo the SOC setting back to 95% after I have done the above?

Sorry, what is SOC?

State Of Charge for the car battery. By default it is set at 80% which is why so many electronic features turn off to save battery power when it gets below that level. I reset mine to 95% to keep things working.

Thanks for the clarity, so, no, as this setting is in BCMii, you're just putting APIM back to factory

Well that worked perfectly for me 😁

I did as you suggested, reset everything, redid the climate controls on Sync3 and it all works as expected. And I've got my time back! 🙌
