Answer in your other post.

Check the BCM which is part of the Fusebox located in the passenger footwell behind the glovebox.

bad news autoelectrican diagnosed what i suspected bcm knackered

going to fords this morning to see whats its gonna cost as car too good to scrap

Did you have any luck with Ford?

I was looking through some diagrams for Mondeo of vehicles this age. Assume the electrical system is similar.

From your symptoms I would suspect the Front Passenger Door Module (FDM Front Door Module), which runs on the MS CAN-Bus and also controls the rear door via another Bus. If not the module, the wiring between the A pillar and the module, the BUS wiring is a thin twisted pair of wires which could break over time.

go t quote for £1100 to fix would imagine they will do their own diagnostic before they start the work its cheaper than i thought

apparantly the body module is not communicating with body controle module

dont have money to do at moment thinking about px but dont know what worth in condition if could get 1k for car might trade up to x sport

CAN Bus issues are usually broken wires or bad connectors, always easy to blame the large expensive components and its probably the first things that a dealer would change only to find it not that, which that quote would imply.
