1.8 TDCI Newly Fitted Turbo

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

A few weeks ago I posted a video which sounded like a knackered turbo.

I took it to a trusted garage, who advised they could find no leaks or similar in the pipes and that it was a turbo noise.

So i took it in last week to have the turbo replaced.

I picked the car up earlier and the car pulls well and I have just done a 60 mile round trip on the motorway with no issues.

Although the original noise has gone, i am still left with a noise that wasn't there before on the original turbo before the problems occurred.

I called back round to the garage, and they said most older diesel engine fords sound like this, which I disputed as that isn't the case in my scenario and they advised i can bring it back (they are decent guys been helping local area for 20 years and good rep) if any issues occur.

What's your thoughts on the noise on this please?
