Mk2.5 alarm keeps randomly beeping

Featured Replies

Hello,

Apologies if I’m posting in the wrong section.

My focus mk2.5, 2010 plate car alarm keeps beeping at totally random times. I used to think it was something that happened when it was hot in summer but now it’s also started doing it through winter.

Now the dashboard has started sounding with the display rear driver side passenger door open. It’s not open at all, I drive with all doors locked because of children.
I’m wondering if they are related?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated! I’m sure my neighbours are sick and tired of being woken up at random times throughout the night.

Thanks

Most probable cause is a faulty door latch (rear drivers side). Inside the actual latch is a small microswitch which is used to tell the BCM (Body control module) the status of the door latch. The signal is used by the central locking, the alarm system, the courtesy light.

The switch is difficult to replace as the latch has to be dismantled, Best option is to get a used replacement from a scrapyard or eBay.

Thankyou so much for your help. Will look into that today
