2011 Mk.3 Focus 1600 (125 bhp) engine, 30,000 miles from new. Initial start from cold fault/problem.

Featured Replies

From cold the engine starts first time every time, but soon as the throttle pedal is used the engine runs rough & mostly cuts out. If however I start the engine from cold & let it tick over for approximately 1 minute & then use the throttle it is absolutely fine. It performs brilliantly & starts from warm/hot with no problems whatsoever. Leave the car standing for around six hours (the time it takes for a round of golf + a social drink) we then have the cold start/throttle problem/fault again.

I have had the car on an OBD meter at my local garage & no errors show up, the car is OK to use on a regular basis but it is a little inconvenient at times. Any body experienced the same fault & able to offer a solution?
