I recently bought a petrol manual Mk2 Focus LX hatchback due to the new London emissions regulations. This is the first Ford vehicle I have owned.

I have previously had Japanese petrol and diesel cars. I have always tried to do work myself on my own vehicles wherever I can. I have changed fluids, replaced exhausts, bushes, timing belts, water pumps, alternators, brake components etc. myself.

I am getting on with the Focus ok so far, no serious problems yet. I have joined the forum as I have a few minor questions.

What does LX actually mean? Low Expectations? It was only the second level up from the very lowest spec Studio model.
