Mk2 PFL power folding mirror module location

Featured Replies

Hi. I am retrofitting FL mk2.5 power fold mirrors to my PFL mk2 estate. I can find info saying the power folding module is under the rear seat right hand side. Can anyone give me a more precise location or better still, a pic of their module showing the mounting and part number.

thank you in advance.

im pretty sure there isnt one. i fitted them to mine and never installed a module i just pluged them in added 2 wires and turned them on with software.

mines a 2.5 titnium

On the Focus MK2 the power fold mirrors are not controlled by the door modules. The MK2 has an additional module/relay that controls the folding functions (the module/relay has part number 1S7T-17L684-AA). This is a conventionally switched system. The module/relay is connected directly to both mirrors and switch and is not connected to the CANbus network in any way. Unfortunately the wiring schematics and parts software do not show the location of the module/relay.

The Focus MK2 power fold mirrors can only be folded/unfolded manually by operating the switch. This system does not support autofolding when locking/unlocking the car. Autofolding requires an additional custom circuitry or relay.

On the Focus MK2.5 the conventionally switched power fold system was replaced by a more advanced CANbus controlled system. The MK2.5 power fold mirrors are controlled by the door modules which communicate using the CANbus system.

The Focus MK2 power fold mirrors can only be folded/unfolded manually by operating the switch. This system does not support autofolding when locking/unlocking the car. Autofolding however can easily be obtained by loading custom software into the door modules (for example with the UCDS diagnostic system).
