Focus MK2 Transmission Error

Featured Replies

Hey all.

New here, my 58 Focus 1.6 Zetec Petrol Auto started acting crazy this week.

Here is what I’ve experienced:
Gears not changing to 3 or 4,

Speed not going over 20 or 25mph,

When accelerating, just high revs without the car gaining speed

Engine malfunction and Transmission error

AA have found the following fault codes, just wondering if solenoid replacements will solve this or a transmission.

Any advice will be appreciated. I think the P700, P0500, U0001, P1260 faults may be unrelated as I had a flat battery when AA arrived.

Thanks

I would first check the oil level/ condition then move onto the rest.

  • A faulty shift solenoid
  • A faulty powertrain control module
  • A faulty transmission module (if applicable)
  • Debris inside transmission causing a restriction in the flow of transmission fluid
  • Internal transmission damage
