Focus MK4 ST-Line foglight adjustment

Featured Replies

The foglights on my MK4 are useless, I can just about see a bit of illuminated road just ahead of the bonnet when they are on! Anyone know how I can adjust them? (And, if poss, stop them coming on when cornering)

Thanks - Richard

What headlights has your Mk4 ?

Halogen or LED ?

Mine has Halogen headlights and they are very poor especially on unlit back lanes but when I put the front fogs on it's a whole lot better.

Might even have to see if the front fogs can be set to come on when the headlights activates as it will save soooooo much time and effort by not pressing the button.......😄

Hi Richard, if you have access to Forscan you can stop the fog lights coming on when cornering.

The setting is in the Body Control Module (BdyCM) under ‘Fog Light Usage’. Change this to ‘Fog Only’ and you’ll be sorted.

Hi David, I think that can be done too, the setting is ‘Fog Lights as DRL’

I think they are LED. I have the opposite problem - the headlights are brilliant, its the foglights that do nowt, just illuminate immedately in front of the car which I can't see anyway 'cos of the bonnet! I'd like to adjust them so that they illuminate a bit further out.

Raise the seat so you can see further beyond the bonnet 😆

On a serious note  don't think the fog lights are going to do much else tbh as I'm sure you know already that the more light you put on in the fog the more it reflects back and makes visibility worse.
