2017 125 st line eco boost issues

Featured Replies

Evening forum,

I am hoping and looking for any and all advice with regards to my 2017 1.0 ecoboost 125 st line Ford Focus.

engine management light came on a couple of weeks back, took it to a garage who said it was just a reset that was required. Last week, light came back on and took it to a different garage, plugged it in and came up with a P0011 error code - cams shaft issues. Mechanic checked the leads and sensors which were fine and bang on within required ranges. Only other thing do was full oil change, engine flush and fuel clean which was carried out.  This ‘fixed’ the issue for a few days, but light has just came back on. Engine now seems a little sluggish as well. especially in lower gears.

it’s had a full service and mot in feb, with no advisories. Had an interim service at the start of November. No noises or rattles, fuel consumption is fine. Currently on 66000 miles.

has anyone had similar issues? Any suggestions as to what it could be and cost? I’m at the stage of getting very nervous and imagining spiralling costs.

thanks in advance

kinds regards

Chris

FYI Engine flushes are about the worst thing you can do to the 1.0L ecoboost.

Engine flush will surely spiral the cost very soon.

I feel the need for a new engine within the next couple of thousand miles.

lots and lots of similar issues on here and most other forums. In most cases it results in the engine being replaced. Best thing to do is drag it down to 'webuyanywreck.com' and get rid of it as quickly as possible.
