Hi, new to this forum and hoping for some help. I have a 2010 Focus Titanium that was fitted with the 'upgraded' sat nav radio.

I have purchased a Sony 6 disc DAB radio from ebay as I listen to DAB stations in my van and at work and fed up of  weekend Radio 2! 

It all works fine apart from the DAB typically which shows 'hardware fault'. Is this a problem with the radio or the car and is there a fix?

Have you fitted a DAB aerial?

MK2,5 Focus was only fitted with a DAB antenna from the factory if a DAB radio was specified i.e. you need to fit an appropriate antenna for the DAB to work.

It has a DAB style aerial connector that was plugged the sat nav radio previously installed that fits the DAB aerial socket. I have another aerial so will try that.

Fitted a DAB aerial today but no luck. Display constantly shows 'DAB hardware fault' when listening to FM, CD etc flitting for a second to show what your listening to. When selecting DAB it does try occasionally to tune in on 5B for a couple of seconds before reverting back to hardware fault.
