Dashcam users.

Some freak in a white 21 plate Ford Ecosport today came to a junction to my left, I was on the main road right on top of the junction, driver didn't even attempt to give way and pulled straight out on me, me having to slam on my brakes throwing my missus forwards to the dash, seat belt locking up on her shoulder, then the Ecosport proceeded to put their hazard lights on at me, then the lovely driver brake checks me, me nearly rear ending them, the driver then proceeds to travel along at 20mph in a 40mph zone, my missus then remarked that the driver has a dashcam fitted at the front, I looks at the back screen and sure enough there was a small rear facing camera..... What is wrong with these sort of people who fit dashcams and go looking for trouble, I wanted to follow the driver to wherever but my missus wanted to get home, not to have it out with the driver but get my revenge in the early hours.

God how I hate certain dashcam users who use such devices 😡 😡 😡

They don't go looking for trouble...they genuinely don't understand that they're a nuisance and a danger to other road users.  They get regularly beeped, flashed etc and assume everyone else is the problem so get dash cams fitted.  Rear dash cam is often a good sign that they'll be an awful driver in my experience!

For the majority of them they try to cause trouble just so they can upload some footage
to youtube only to be shown they are in the wrong but still defend their dangerous act.

Don't think you should be given a licence unless you pass a mandatory psych test.

Even if there was such a test! 😄 New dashcam users see what they see on media, so re-enact it over & over again, youtube is full of these nutters.

You know what, I’ve thought that might be the case for a long time.  It’s actually scary that you’ve come to the same conclusion.  They all need to do an apprenticeship on two wheels when it really f****** hurts if you either take the Michael, get it wrong, or fail to keep your eye on the ball.

I have a dashcam but I drive defensively not offensively. Most of my captures are of other drivers mistakes however I will own up to any of my own. You can see some vids on my YT channel (I havent uploaded a dashcam video in years though but I have made some) I admit I'm not a perfect driver and yeah in some of my vids I actually do an undertake on the Motorway. However its not against the law to undertake, but it is to hog the middle lane (came into force 2013.) But I get such flack just for undertaking! NO, there isnt a law on this, It can be deemed as "Driving without due care and attention" but thats up to the officer witnessing your act. If you changed lanes just to undertake then yes they'd pull you over... If you were going 70mph or under and was well established in the left lane undertaking a middle hogger doing 60mph then you're fine.

Dual carriageways are the worst, you get the 40mph club in the right lane when the speed limit can be 70mph and you cannot overtake because there is no 3rd lane. My solution is to go left lane... count to 10, then belt it past them. You in that situation safely moved to the left, gave them 10 seconds to see what they would do and that you were there. You can undertake now no problem as you did it in a safe manner. Instead of immediately undertaking them for being too slow because (and I have seen it) cars moving over for people approaching fast and they get wrong timing and have to brake fast and get back to the other lane.
