Want to upgrade 6006Cdc to DAB/Apple CarPlay

Hello all - I'm after some advice please.

I have a 2007 model S-Max with 6006Cdc, factory-fit bluetooth phone connection and steering wheel controls which works fine at the moment, but was wondering whether I could replace this with an alternative head unit which does Apple CarPlay, DAB radio, and possibly bluetooth audio streaming (in that order of priority:smile:) - and without breaking the bank as I probably will only be keeping the car for another 3-4 years.

Any suggestions - and has anyone done this and can advise?

I'd like to keep the steering wheel control functionality if at all possible so any thoughts welcome!

Yes it has been done, this question get's asked all the time.

It's no different than any other "double din" conversion where you fit an adapter to the stereo surround/fascia, a few brackets, and then a wiring harness adapter (search on eBay, they come as a kit). You then fit any double din stereo you want in your price range (Halfords may be a good place to start).

They do cost around £300+ for a decent brand such as Pioneer & Sony, but the cheaper ones are utter tosh.

Thanks Luke - I was wondering specifically about the steering wheel controls part of it, is that fairly standard too in terms of fitting?
