2011 Fiesta metal starting issue

all lights come on dash turn key nothing

boost starter connected

turn key. Nothing happens not even a click

bump starts within 10 feet

any ideas why u won’t start on key

Starter motor failure. Look for any loose wires.Try tapping the outer casing with a wooden mallet or something similar 👍

Could also be faulty ignition switch. Dont know how easy it is to access the back of the ignition lock where the wires are to test.  But I would check the wires on stater motor first as per post above.   But I wouldn’t buy a new starter motor without verifying that the power is getting to the starter motor

Does the key actually turn to the start position. My partner's fiesta had ign switch fault which stopped the key turn to start position.

yes turns all the way. just no starter motor action. ill check power going to started before i go any further

When this happened to me it was the starter, but it had taken the body control module out with it.
