Mite Be Getting Another New Car 3Rd 1 In A Year Lol

Featured Replies

dad still not happy with the car he thinks the 1.4 tdci is just a to bigger stepdown from the 2.0 tdci focus, so now were looking for a 1.6 tdci fiesta or a 1.6 tdci focus , has any1 had any experience of these cars ? is the 1.6 tdci fiesta really tht mach faster thn the 1.4 tdci ??? any comment on this subject much apresiated , oh yea we are also looking at a 1.6 tdi golf ( run and hide lol )

I've got the 1.6TDCI 90BHP in my C-Max and it's a economical engine even with the weight of the car, I'm averaging about 45mpg in the town and 51-52 MPG on the motorways, on long runs I can see 55-60MPG from it.

My only problem is the lack of power (having come from a 170BHP Fabia vRS you can see why!!) but once you get up to speed the engine is fantastic. If you need more power then a tuning box is the way forward I've just got one and your looking at a 25-30BHP increase.

Hope this helps.

The 1.6tdci in the fiesta is a perfectly good engine. Gets about 50-55 mpg when driven fairly hard with the climate control on. :D

The power is alright. 60 comes in 11.9 which is about 2.5 quicker than the 1.4tdci. The engine has plenty of torque, enough for the odd overtake, but you won't win any races with it :) I should think you'll find it an aweful lot quicker than the 1.4, simply because of the extra torque.

i think its faster thn the mk 6.5 1.4 petrol i was driving ( in gear any way) , but cause dad has come down from a 140bhp 2.0 the power drop is huge, we are going to test drive the fiesta and focus soon , he wants to get one just before the new focus comes out thn we will get good deal on the current shape 1

suppose your not lookin for power though if you want economy? and i remember you saying in a thread this was a major deciding factor in new cars... so you have either or... if you wanted economy the econetic the one for you....

Do you think it's an alright engine for that sized car???

We had a C-max 1.6 petrol as a hire car on holiday once, with 5 of us in the car it was pathetic, really sluggish, seemed like the complete wrong engine for the car!!

TBH it's a good engine economy wise the 1.6TDCI, but I think Ford should have stuck the 110BHP version in instead!

It feels pants pulling away in a hurry and you really do need to drop it down and I kind of think it would benefit from a sixth gear at motorway speeds (am used to a six speed box from the Fabia!!), when I was looking at the C-Max's before I bought this car I was looking at the 1.8TDCI but the car I was looking at turned up to be about 30 miles away and not where I thought it was going to be according to the website!

any fiesta is going to feel slow going from a 2.0tdci 140bhp mondeo, but the 1.6 tdci is capable of near enough the same BHP, especially with a remap. i have mine chipped and is running at about 120-130bhp and the torque is fantastic, i agree its not gopng to win any 0-60 races, but 30-70 it certainly will! Its all about torque:-D !!

economy is very important for us , but when we looked at the comparison charts the 1.6 tdci fiesta is the same mpg and the focus 1.6 tdci is basixly the same , so ur basicly getting the extra power for not expense of mpg and also its my dad just being fussy he gets bored of cars very quickly and i think he misses the extra space of the focus i am quite happy with the mk7 fezza i think it is quite nippy lol :)
