Aircon seals

Featured Replies

Hi All

Just out of interest, when you buy an aircon condenser or dryer, do they come with the seals? Green I presume.

Thanks

Andrew

Depends which side the seal is fitted to.  Some seals fit to pipes, others fit to components.

Generally parts do come with seals fitted where originally fitted.  Though if buying aftermarket, the seal quality may not be as good as OEM and obviously it's a huge hassle having to disassemble afterwards for the sake of a seal.

I'd also recommend lubricating the new seals with PAG oil before fitting, to ensure the best chance of being leak free!

Thanks for the advice. It’s just that I am going to order a cobdenser, a dryer and seals for compressor and looking at the seals as separate to buy are stupid monies unless I’m looking in the wrong place. You can buy box dejection with 270 o rings in but not the exact size of the originals

I am intending to replace the dryer and just want to know what the connections are like to when removing and fitting a new unit?

Any special tools?

Is it possible to warm up and dry out the dryer for say a week in a airing cupboard? The car has been driven without a condenser fitted so presuming moisture could have reached the dryer.

Cheers

Andrew
