Speed related front drive shaft noise

Featured Replies

I've had many front wheel drive cars but never had this type of problem,  it's an 18 plate fiesta titanium with approximately 20k miles. All of a sudden today it's started whining! I haven't noticed it before so I would have thought if its wheel bearings it would be gradual,  have these cars got any history of problems with driveshafts or wheel bearings? I'll jack it up tomorrow and spin the shafts and see if there's anything obvious.

Not looking good ☹, I've had it jacked up, spun the shafts and it sounds internal ! So it's going into Ford. 23,000 mls ? rubbish.

Update,  I've had it in to Ford and it's fixed! Both bearings on the output shaft replaced and now it's smooth and quiet again. I've looked on the web and can't find any others of this year with a similar problem, hopefully all good from now on.👍

Hope it stays good David
