ST3 68 reg fuel consumption figure

Featured Replies

Hello, i've narrowed my new car search down to a 1.0 125hp st line x & an ST3 1.5 197hp Fiesta and find different sites list different figures for combined mpg for the ST3, either 40 or 47, would any current owners be able to give me an idea which is most accurate.

Depends entirely on how you drive.   In my 100 Ecoboost I've been getting around the 44 mark but since the price of petrol became ridiculous I'm now getting a shade over 50 mpg.

1.0 125hp st line x - with a moderately heavy right foot at times puts out almost always 43mpg on this new standard fuel. Used to get more like 46, 47 on the older stuff but them times are long gone.

I should note this includes no motorway miles. Far as im aware ST-3 will produce around 5 - 10 mpg less on average than this unless driven in eco.

I wouldn't buy an ST and then use eco myself, but probably about right - I average mid-40's in my ST-L 140, Autocar  said this about their Mk 8 ST  long termer:

Fuel consumption and range: Claimed economy 40.4mpg Fuel tank 42 litres Test average 36.9mpg Test best 43.1mpg Test worst 34.9mpg Real-world range 341 miles

Big jump from a 125 to an ST - you might find a 140 or Mhev 155 a better compromise.

As has already been said, depends very much on how you drive and what sort of journeys you do.

My daily commute of around 70 miles (round trip) is about 70% motorway with a few A & B roads + about 3 miles of town traffic for the other 30%

I get around 48mpg in the winter and about 53mpg in the summer from My 2019 ST-Line 140.

As Bob has mentioned above, with the price of fuel becoming astronimical I've changed my driving habits a bit to try and compensate.

Last week I tried to limit my speed on the Motorways to around 60mph where possible and I got 57mpg, averaged over the week using the brim to brim method for calculation, the dash readout said 59mpg.

Thanks for all comments, not helped by Autotrader when viewing an ST in the running costs section some have 40mpg combined & some state 47mpg combined.

I'm lucky my twice a week commute is 40 miles per day but if i change jobs it'll be well over double as i work 3 days a week from home.
