Have you tried resetting it by holding in the button inside the volume dial and the fast forward keys at the same time for about 10 seconds?

Sometimes I sit in the car for lunch and if it's warm I will open a window or two. To do that I have to press the start button to get power, once the windows are open I press the start button again to turn it off, and then turn on the radio.

I then have to press the start button again to close the windows. If I do that I often get the blank screen when I have my phone connected for the sat nav on my drive home. I just do the reset and it's fine again. Not noticed it when I haven't pressed the start button to get power so maybe it's some bug with that?
