2007 Fiesta Lambda

Featured Replies

Need to replace the lambda sensor on a 1.25 2007 Fiesta but there seems to be so many makes and part numbers

Any suggestions of firstly where to find the exact one I need and suggestions of where to buy other than the main dealer prices

Error code states heating issue / open circuit

Thank you

Andrew

Whilst it’s not likely, it might be a wiring / connector fault. Have you checked?  And check that the two heating wires do have an open circuit.

Thanks, no I haven’t and although I have a multimeter I would know how to.

All I can say is using Forscan we could erase the management light and started car and the light didn’t come on. Tried it and hour later and it was back 😞

I assume it's the pre cat sensor you need?  Looks like part number 1143514.

Price over £200 for a genuine Ford part...  Pretty sure Ford don't make them though.  So any decent branded 4 wire sensor with the same plug shape should be fine.

Is Denso OK to go with?

I don’t know but I wonder if there are fake branded sensors on the market. For my brother’s corsa I bought a NGK make sensor on eBay, about forty quid I think it was. Seemed genuine as far as I could tell although how would I know.  Been fine since fitted three months ago.  His car had same problem on heating in sensor.  Like yours, Eml could be turned off and would only come back on when cold.  Which kind of makes sense as it only needs the heater in the sensor on when engine is cold.
