So recently I've been looking into grabbing a new Fiesta, I have found a 2011 Fiesta with an Ecoboost badge. However, after a few questions and a reg check, the car appears to be the 1.25L Petrol Edge model, which is unusual as I cannot find any proof of the Fiesta 1.25 Engine ever having an Ecoboost. Is this possible or should I request a closer look at the engine?

I’m pretty sure that EcoBoost was only available with the Mk7.5 launch 2012/13 onwards in 1.0 litre 3 Cylinder guise.

If the car you’re looking at has four cylinders and 1.2 or 1.25 capacity then it’s going to be tried and tested mechanicals.

I too think it can’t be eco boost if 1.25,  I would feel happier buying 1.25 non ecoboost, a reliable engine that is not sensitive to various issues that eco boost has. 

No, definitely not an Ecoboost - why anyone would stick an Ecoboost badge on it I don't know.

My Mrs had a 1.25 Edge and it was a pretty good little car with no problems in the time we had it.

When looking for a fiesta for my mum, I came across the same thing, it's very easy to tell they are lying about it being ecoboost, just enter the reg into ford etis and that will tell u the real engine it has

There is a 125 Bhp 1.0 ecoboost, and a 1.1 3 cyl non-turbo ecoboost, but never been a 1.25l ecoboost.
