Ford Fiesta MK4 (2000) Rattle from pedal area

Featured Replies

Hello all.

Car is a year 2000 MK4 Ford Fiesta with the 1.25 Zetec engine. Only bought recently and I'm fairly new to Ford, so don't know if it's normal.

A sort of rattle/vibration is there which appears to be caused by the brake pedal. It causes a continuous vibration once the engine hits around 3K RPM and it gets louder under acceleration.

To test it whilst idle, I pushed in the brake pedal as far as it can go (Which stops the noise), and raising the revs at the same time. No rattle whatsoever.

No issues with the brakes or anything like that. Engine sounds sweet. Just a really annoying noise.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

if holding your foot on the pedal and reving you get no noise but reving with the pedal not pressed gives a noise try looking to see if the pivot pin is loose and rattling. other than that im sure the guru's on here will have a better idea than i have

Thanks for the reply. I was just looking around the are again today, moved the phone around trying to pinpoint the area.

It would actually appear to be coming from the clutch side (Left). Video is applying very slight pressure on the clutch pedal. Doesn't seem to do it with the brake now. Strange indeed.

Do releasing bearings or anything like that sound similiar? Maybe something loose.
