Hello,

Has anyone successfully retrofitted automatic headlights to a mk7 fiesta?

Thanks!

You will need the combined rain sensor and light sensor fitted to the windscreen and wired up, a new headlamp switch for auto headlamps then turn both on using Forscan

Never use it on mine as can't depend on the lights being on in marginal condition and fog etc

you will also need a new windscreen with the correct blacked area for the rain and light sensor, and a new rear view mirror as well as the plastics that go over it all

Not massively important, you can just get the mounting bracket from a donor and bond it to your screen, you don't need a dimming rear view mirror

Yes but you do need to get the correct windscreen as the top black silk screen is different between the normal one and the one that can take the rain sun sensor

A lot less hassle to swap your car for a higher spec one to be honest. The cost to trade won't be much different once you've bought all the bits!

It's only an obscuration so you can't see the rain sensor wiring, it's not that important. You just have to make sure you fit the sensor mounting bracket in the correct place.

A rain sensor is about £30 and the switch about the same, no hassle just wire, fit and configure

OP, just make sure you buy the rain sensor from the correct car (ie: Mk7 Fiesta)

well actually it isn't the non rain sensor windsceen doesn't have the gap in the black silk screen for the rain sensor and as such the rain sensor will not work

FORD FIESTA MK7 FRONT WINDSCREEN GLASS (RAIN SENSOR VERSION) 2013-2017 NJ15 – Gala Motors FORD FIESTA MK7 FRONT WINDSCREEN 2013-2017 BP15 – Gala Motors

Picture on the right is the non auto headlights windscreen, the one on the left is the auto headlight windscreen.

You will need to replace the windscreen, get the rain sensor, the column switch with the auto wiper position, and the light switch with the auto lights position otherwise the car will give a dtc about it as you can't enable the auto lights in the central config without enabling auto wipers.
