MK7 tailgate compatibility and 2012/13 changes?

Featured Replies

I may need to source a salvage tailgate for a 2012 MK7 fiesta.

I note that some sellers are listing tailgates that cover production dates 2008 to 2012 and some for 2013 to 2016 but I have also seen some that claim to cover both year ranges.

Did the rear of the car change in 2012/13 at the same time as the front was facelifted ?

I don’t know but even if there is a styling difference it might fit. Eg I know fiesta mk2 tailgates fitted mk1 even though it was much more curvy in the number plate area

to my knowlede the actual tailgate is the same in both the pre and post facelift, the thing that changed in the rear end was the rear lights
