Front & Rear washers not working on my 2008 smax.

Featured Replies

I own a 2008 Ford S-Max 1.8 TDCi Titanium with only 83,000 miles, my problem is the front & rear windscreen wash is not working, there’s no noise from the pumps, I’ve checked the fuses & pumps both working, has anyone on here had similar issues & have managed to fix them?

Any feedback will be a big help

There is only one pump for the front and rear screen. It is controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM).

You need to get to the wires on the actual pump which is located on the side of the screen wash tank. Then use a meter to check if any voltage is getting to the pump when you operate the screen wash.

Thanks for the reply, I’ll check that over the weekend

Replacement pump is fairly straightforward, remove the undertray and the ns headlight for a better view. Jacking the car up slightly to give you better access helps.

You should be able to get a Febi one off Amazon / eBay for around £10.
