What driver assistance extras can I add?

2018 fiesta came with lane keeping assist and hill start assist. Can I add anything else at Ford?

When I bought mine (new) I added power fold mirrors blind spot monitoring adaptive cruise alll round parking sensors with cross traffic alert auto wipers and lights. - but I doubt you can retrofit them - and some of them you can't even add to a brand new Fiesta.

It depends on which camera u have

Need to know the full spec of the car before anyone could say.

What model trim level?  is it manual/auto ?

Does it have rain sensing wipers ? Does it have just speed limiter or does it have Cruise control ?

It’s a manual Fiesta Zetec Turbo. No to the rain sensing wipers, and only has speed limiter.

I know I can add cruise control but is it possible to add adaptive cruise? Will they fit radar?

Hello Dan, I was assuming you would be doing the work yourself. Your local Ford main dealer will not fit, change, or do anything to your vehicle other than fit some bits of after market stuff.

Adaptive cruise is quite a big extra to retrofit, but it can be done. They don't use the forward facing radar any more, but instead use the forward camera on the windscreen. Normal cruise control can easily be fitted replacing the speed limiter.

Rain sensing wipers and Auto High Beam require a different camera to the one that you might already have, but probably don't. If you don't already have a windscreen mounted camera then you will also need to replace the windscreen.

You can fit a reverse camera and connect it in to your existing system for not much money, but it takes a good 5 hours work. Most things can be done, but cost is the big limiter. If you are an electrically competent person and not afraid to get stuck in and pull your car to bits then, you can add things like front and rear parking sensors and power fold mirrors.

If you are thinking of trying to get someone else to do the work, my advice would be save your money and buy a car of a higher spec like a Titanium.

Thanks for your reply!

So adaptive cruise control is the biggest one I’m looking to fit, and I’m happy to do it myself it Ford won’t.

Do you know of any guides that go through disassembling the steering wheel to fit the cruise buttons, and then activating adaptive on forscan? Or is more required for adaptive than just turning it on once you have the buttons fitted?

Off the top of my head I don't know of a specific guide but there are lots of threads on the subject, just use the search function.

You will need, new steering wheel/buttons, very possibly new clock spring (not sure on that), new windscreen, forward camera, and FORScan to make the software changes.

If you do fit the new camera you should also be able to turn on the rain sensing wipers, and Auto High Beam
