Worn Pedal Rubbers

Featured Replies

Changed the pedal covers. Pretty sure they are originals. 115k miles of driving.

Previous owner clearly rode the clutch alot.

Well also the fiesta pedal rubbers are not really the strongest, mine have a clear amount of wear on them and my car is almost at 40k

Yeah. Replacement ones are transit. Hopefully they’ll last a bit longer. Unless they’re the same.

Hopefully they’ll last a bit longer.

They look like poor quality they've only lasted 115,000 miles and 18 years !!

So if the replacements last as long then your car will have done 230,000 miles and be 36 years old 🤣

and you can't blame the previous owners because all that wear must have happened since it's last MOT

Tbf I've owned plenty of cars over 100k...and never seen wear like that on pedals!!

Oddly, MOT history shows my current Mk2 failed for 'brake pedal rubber missing'...how does that even happen?  Where does it go?  How did no-one notice prior to MOT?

Lol, possibly...  The previous owner was charged £40 to supply & fit the new rubber. 😮

As some know, I replaced my pedal covers after car had done 100,000 miles. I reckon these ones will outlast me!

That's a little worrying - They only come with a 12 months warranty 🤣

I meant Neb_engineers ones only lasting 40k! Not my old ones!

Think they served their time tbh!

And the MOT is being done next week. And i've only owned the car about 6 weeks! I can't be blamed for all that wear, unless i've been wearing my rubber melting boots again.
