2006 Ford Fiesta Battery Draining Issue

Featured Replies

Hi There,

My 2006 Ford Fiesta seems to have a battery draining problem.

I had thought that it was a parasitic draw when testing all the fuses as I found the fuse for "Instrument cluster, battery saver, number plate lamp, generic electronic module" was causing a draw even when the car had been turned off for a while.

I am also currently in the process of getting a new battery as the current one seems to struggle to hold any charge for more than a couple of days even with the fuse removed.

I am unaware of any common issues which lead to a fault with that fuse so thought to come here for help.

Any wisdom on the subject would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Annie, welcome to the Ford Owners Club.

Just encase you don't know it can take 20 minutes of your vehicle being powered down and undisturbed before all modules fully shut down and go to sleep. Even just opening the door can start the process of stuff waking back up again.

Do you have Bluetooth ? A common fault is the bluetooth module not shutting down.
