"Explosive Gas" Warning Light

Featured Replies

Ford Fiesta 1.1L Ti-VCT, 2021.

Yesterday heading home, after I started the car the "Explosive Gas" light came on for circa a minute on the dashboard. Later it disappeared.

Had a longer trip later, it did not appear again.

Car works properly, no other symptoms.

Found absolutely no information (User Manual, Internet).

What that sign means?

Thank you.

Someone in the car had bad wind? 😂😂

Sorry, couldn't resist, never seen that warning before!

It is a strange phenomenon, I am not surprised you have not seen it.

No answer provided either in the manual or the net.

Are you totally sure it was that light?  Was it a 'fixed' light or did it come up on the LCD display?

I think that handbook index is just showing you symbols that could appear anywhere on the car.  So there'll be flammable warnings on the air con gas sticker under the bonnet for example.

Yes, it came up on the dashboard LCD in the right lower corner and for circa a minute.

The car is new and was in service 3 days ago (oil change).

Hmm, very odd!  I suppose it could be trying to warn of a fault with the capless fuel filler.

You'll have to let us know if you do ever find out!

Yesterday I have already checked the fuel filler.

Was logical talking about "gas" and "explosive".

It seemed okay.

But we will see, I will refuel in the evening. Let us see.

have you tried asking whoever did the oil change  for you? Given you only just had that done could be related?

That warning light is normally associated with the battery pack on Hybrid's.

I very much hope it doesn't become a hybrid after the oil change. 🙂

I refueled the car in the evening. Everything was okay with the fuel filler.

I have not contacted yet the Ford Service where the oil changed was done. If it happens again, I will make a call.

If I find out anything about this miraculous warning light, I will share by all means as no information is available at all.

I always wonder why a User Manual doesn't contain the necessary information? It is indispensable to know for a driver what the warning lights mean. All of them, not only some as it is in the Manual.
